Spanish media have announced a spin-on of the “Star Wars” universe.
The news comes from the El Mundo newspaper, which claimed that Lucasfilm is planning to “create a spin on the story of a young girl named Canaria, who lives in a town called Gran Canaria” in Spain.
“Canaria is a young woman who lives under the shadow of a volcano and has become obsessed with the ‘Star wars’ universe,” the publication said.
“She has an idea of the possibility of finding a way to travel to a galaxy far, far away.
But she must not forget the fate of her father.”
Lucasfilm declined to comment on the reports.
However, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy said in a statement to IGN in February that the spinoff was in development.
“We are still in the very early stages of development, but we are looking forward to working with our partners to bring the Star Wars universe to life on the silver screen,” Kennedy said.
